TMC MLA Jitendra Tiwari resigns from the key post in Asansol Municipal Corporation

Bengal, Dec 17: Trinamool Congress MLA Jitendra Tiwari resigns from the post of chairman of the administrative board of the Asansol Municipal Corporation.

Jitendra Tiwari represents Pandaveswar in the West Bengal Assembly and has claimed that the Mamata Banerjee-led government has not given the region its fair share of development funds.

Addressing the party workers on Thursday, Jitendra Tiwari said, “We have been deprived of the smart city. We have also been deprived of the solid waste management system. Asansol has been deprived of many development works.”

Tiwari claimed that the state government had funds for Kolkata but not for Asansol.

Given the current situation, it is very hard to work and [thus] I am resigning from the post of chairman of the administrative board of Asansol Municipal Corporation,” Jitendra Tiwari said, adding that he will come back again after the elections and clear all pending works.
