Guwahati, 31st October: 1988 batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre IAS officer Jishnu Barua will be the next Chief Secretary of Assam.
The State government on Friday appointed Jishnu Barua as the new Chief Secretary of the state.
Barua is currently in charge as Additional Chief Secretary of Home & Political, Revenue & Disaster Management, Secretariat administration (archives) and Border protection & development, Implementation of Assam Accord departments of the state government.
Jishnu Barua would take over as the current CS Kumar Sanjay Krishna will be retired on October 31 and he was appointed as the CS of Assam in December last year.
