Guidelines issued for extended lockdown in Arunachal ICR

The guidelines released for the period of extended lockdown by the Arunachal Pradesh cabinet has put several restrictions on the movement of people and vehicles within the Itanagar Capital Region, ICR.

For people posted in Central offices in other regions and a case of emergency, restriction on movement shall be exempted provided that lockdown SOP given by the state government in this regard is maintained.

Except a handful of government offices which will include the State Secretariat and Directorate, all other offices shall be closed during this period and work from home will be opted as the means of work. All commercial and private establishments except the essential services will remain closed in the region during this time.

All transport services except essential services will remain suspended along with hospitality services except for establishments used as quarantine facilities.

Home supply of LPG cylinders will be allowed. All places of worship shall be closed. No religious congregation will be permitted, without any exception.

All types of gatherings will be prohibited to contain the spread of the disease.

In the case of a funeral, a congregation of not more than twenty people will be permitted. All enforcing authorities have been instructed to note that the strict restrictions fundamentally relate to the movement of people, but not that of essential goods.

Informing about the lockdown guidelines Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu tweeted, “Following are the guidelines to be strictly followed for the extended Capital Complex lockdown till 20th July 2020.”

The Arunachal Pradesh cabinet had announced a week-long lockdown in Itanagar Capital Complex after Covid-19 positive cases showed an alarming spike on 11th July from 13th to 20th July.
