TV actress raped

Mumbai, March 06: A TV actress was allegedly raped by a man on multiple occasions under the pretext of marriage. The incident came to light after the actress lodged a complaint at the Oshiwara police station in northern Mumbai, following which an FIR was registered against the accused, as per reports.

The complainant, in her statement to the Oshiwara police, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions after promising her that he would marry her. Police, on the basis of her statement, registered a case against the accused under sections 376 (2) (n) (rape), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code and initiated an investigation, as per the source.

“An FIR registered at Oshiwara Police station in Mumbai, based on a TV actress’s statement wherein she alleges that she was raped by the accused on multiple occasions on the pretext of marriage. FIR registered under multiple IPC sections. Police investigation underway,” source reported.

This comes weeks after another TV actress filed a complaint with the Oshiwara police, alleging that a pilot raped her after promising to tie the knot with her.

The actress had told the police that she came in contact with the accused through a matrimonial portal. He, later, sexually assaulted her under the false promise of marriage, she alleged.
