Tripura: Food served for ₹ 1 to 200 people every day in Agartala

Agartala, June 24: A leader of the labour organizations and a social worker named Biplab Kar with the help of other businessmen across the Battala market in Agartala city has taken an initiative to distribute cooked food among the poor and distressed people for Re 1.

Speaking to reporters, Biplab Kar, president of Tripura e-rickshaw Sramik Samiti said that everyone is working for the poor people since the covid pandemic hit society.

Apart from serving meals, we have also initiated many steps like distribution of ration kits, masks and sanitisers. We started serving meals from Wednesday and we will try to continue it,” Kar said. 

He said that the poor people will get the food at Re 1.

Kar said that the event will continue for indefinite days which started from Wednesday.

Kar informed that rice along with vegetable items would be served five days a week, one day there will be egg or fish curry and meat one day.

He said that every day they will be provided food to at least 200 people.
