TMC is trying to fetch sympathy votes: BJP Dilip Ghosh

Bengal, Dec 13: BJP State President and MP Dilip Ghosh claimed that TMC is trying to get the sympathy from the people of Bengal by claiming BJP may conspire to assassinate Mamata Banerjee by sending people secretly if it doesn’t win in the upcoming polls.

The person who lost all the support is now speaking for the sake of sympathy. Why suddenly Mamata Banerjee is talking to be prisoned as she is well aware of the fact that she has to go to jail after this election. She is saying that someone is conspiring to kill her, but why someone will do such a crime? In fact, her party workers are killer others. She is trying to gain sympathy for the votes but the people of Bengal are no more in support of her,” said Dilip Ghosh of BJP.

West Bengal’s Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Subrata Mukherjee gave this statement while addressing a rally in the state.

“There are two-three houses in a slum above Kolkata and another house which belongs to Mamata Banerjee. She wears slippers. If she goes to America then also she wears a slipper and a weaver’s saree. She didn’t get married and she doesn’t have a family. She gave her life to people. Delhi government and especially the BJP party is attacking Mamata Banerjee every time. One day they will murder her. If they cannot attack Mamata Banerjee they will set people to murder her. They can do anything. They are playing bad politics. A few days ago, the president of the BJP party came to West Bengal for the meeting. Few people broke their cars. Now they are blaming us. First, investigate but no they are blaming us. I am confident enough that their people only did this thing. They are doing it for publicity.  If my assumption is wrong then I will be leaving politics and if they are wrong then they will get punishment,” said the TMC minister.

This statement by Mukherjee comes after BJP president JP Nadda’s convoy was pelted with stones on Thursday morning allegedly by TMC workers at Sirakol in the Diamond Harbour area of West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. Nadda had gone there to address a rally.
In the attack, National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya was also injured.

The attack was condemned by Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar who accused the bureaucracy of working as ‘political workers’ for the ruling TMC.

The war of words between the TMC and BJP intensified ahead of the forthcoming state Assembly elections, especially after the attack on Nadda’s convoy.

Many senior BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, have slammed the TMC government for failing to provide security to the BJP president and termed the attack as ‘sponsored violence‘.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs has also sought a detailed report from the Bengal government over the alleged “serious security lapses” during the visit of Nadda.
