Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor arrested for chain snatching

India, April 6: If reports are to be believed then a struggling actor, who had also starred in the popular sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was recently arrested in Surat for chain-snatching and theft in Mumbai.

The actor named Miraj Vallabhdas Kapri had played small character roles in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

According to a report, Miraj started chain snatching on the streets of Mumbai with his friend Vaibhav Babu Jadav in order to pay his debts. Reportedly, he suffered almost Rs 30 lakh loss in gambling.

The police are said to have recovered Rs 2,54,000 including 3 gold chains, 2 mobiles, and stolen bikes from both the accused. They were arrested by Rander Bhesan intersection.

Both Vaibhav and Miraj were arrested by Mumbai Police after being tipped off by an informer.

During the police interrogation, both the culprits confessed to committing the crimes and said that they mostly targeted women in deserted areas.

Besides TMKOC, Kapri had also worked in several other daily soaps including Thapki Pyaar Ki and Mere Angne Mein as a junior artist. A resident of Andheri, he also worked as a fitness trainer to earn some extra money.

On a related note, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was in the news recently as rumour mills were at a buzz that leads, Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal and Shailesh Lodha who plays Taarak Mehta are not talking terms.

However, Shailesh Lodha rubbished the rumours saying, “Believe me, there is nothing like that between Dilip Joshi and me. Our relationship is much stronger than our on-screen relationship.”
