Mumbai, 16th November: Sushmita Sen, the former Miss Universe, delighted her fans in a Manipuri traditional attire.
Robert Naorem, the acclaimed fashion designer from Manipur designed the beautiful hand-embroidered floral pink silk wrap, locally known as Innaphi. The Bollywood actor looked no less than a diva in the beautiful attire.
She complimented her looks with minimalistic make-up and a golden neckpiece. On the designer’s Facebook page, he said, “Actress & former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen and someone whose charm has always positivity and strength. Love you & forever for agreeing to shoot with my outfit. It’s a dream come true.”
These Manipuri panels are also known as sarong or wraparound skirt. These are handwoven on loin looms using cotton silk and other synthetic fabrics and are available in block colors or stripes sticking to its authenticity with floral patterns or bold designs.
