Assam: Girl student commits suicide after failing in HSLC examination

Guwahati, June 6: A girl student from Assam Karimganj district had allegedly committed suicide after failing in the Class 10 High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination, results declared on Saturday conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA).

The incident took place at Junitila Karnamadhu area in Karimganj district.

According to the reports, a girl student of Karnamadhu High School allegedly committed suicide after she failed to clear the Class 10 examination.

Father of the girl said that she hanged herself inside her room.

She returned to home in a depression mood after she failed in the examination. She locked her room and later we found her hanging,” father of the girl said.

A total of 3,42,224 students appeared in this year’s HSLC examination of which 2,21,756 students passed in the examination.

48,278 students passed with first division marks, 77,850 in the second division and 95,829 in the third division.
