Assam reports six more COVID-19 positive cases, state tally surges to 191:

Guwahati, May 21: Assam on Thursday has registered six more positive cases for COVID-19 taking the state tally to 191.

Among the new cases, two cases have been reported from Kokrajhar district and four cases from Barpeta district.

Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, six persons have tested positive for COVID-19, and out of the three persons are at Kokrajhar quarantine center.

He tweeted – “Two persons at Kokrajhar Quarantine Center tested & confirmed #COVID19 positive. Total cases 191.”

On Wednesday, 28 people were tested positive for the new virus.

According to the Assam government data, the state has registered 76 COVID-19 positive cases in the last 48 hours.

The state has so far reported 191 COVID-19 positive cases including 83 cases from Kamrup (Metro), 15 cases from Golaghat district, 14 cases from Cachar district, 10 cases from Kamrup, eight cases from Hojai district, seven cases from Jorhat district, six cases each from Morigaon, Goalpara, Nalbari districts, five cases each from Karimganj, Dhubri, Bongaigaon districts, four cases each from Nagaon, Kokrajhar, Barpeta districts, three cases from Sonitpur district, two cases from Biswanath districts and one each from South Salmara, Lakhimpur, Hailakandi, Sivasagar districts.

Out of them two patients died and 39 others were discharged from hospitals.

One COVID-19 patient was migrated to Bihar.

The state has now 136 active COVID-19 positive cases.
