Assam, Oct 19: A youth from the minority community was brutally attacked by the alleged members of the Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal during a protest rally in Silchar town.
Amid the ongoing anti-Hindu riots in neighbouring country Bangladesh, the members of various Hindu organizations including Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal staged out a protest rally near Deputy Commissioner’s office in Silchar.
A pedestrian belonging to a minority community who was also crossing the DC office at the same time got into a scuffle with a group of members from the Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal.
As per the sources, the group allegedly attacked him with a glass bottle. The youth was immediately taken to the hospital for medication.

Meanwhile, Special DGP Assam Police, GP Singh reacting to a tweet has directed the Cachar Superintendent of Police Ramandeep Kaur to look into the case at the earliest.
