Shillong: BSF organizes Fit India Freedom Run and plantation drive

Shillong, October 1: In order to keep the troops fit and active, several sector headquarters and units under BSF Meghalaya organized “Fit India freedom Run” at various BSF places in Dobasipara, Praharinagar, Dhanakgiri and Mawpat in Tura and Shillong, adhering to all the protocol of Covid-19.

In the context of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the latest science has suggested that being fit boosts our immune system, and that even a single workout can amplify and improve our ability to fight off germs, hence Fit India Freedom Run.

In another events, supporting the cause of greener environment and to educate/motivate the BSF personnel and instil a feeling of doing something for the “Mother Earth” A plantation drive was conducted at Frontier Headquarter BSF, Meghalaya during which saplings of flowering and fruit-bearing plants were planted By BSF personnel inside the BSF campus.

U K Nayal, DIG/PRO FTR HQ BSF said that, everybody should plan to remain active keeping in mind of the basic hygiene, and common sense.

Safe exercise and keeping oneself busy will be useful despite concerns about sickness, however, all these activities should be carried out keeping in mind of the pandemic and ensure all safety of oneself and others as well.
