Assam: 7 cancer, heart patients and attendees came from Mumbai tested positive for COVID-19, cases state tally rises to 86

Guwahati, May 14: Assam on Thursday has reported seven more positive cases for COVID-19.

Seven cancer, heart patients, and attendees who came from Mumbai have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Guwahati.

With the new cases the state tally is now surged to 86.

Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, three cancer patients and a 13-year-old heart patient and three attendees who came from Mumbai to recently were tested positive for COVID-19.

He tweeted – “7 patients & attendants who came from Mumbai & now in quarantine tested positive.”

 

Recently, 137 patients and attendees had reached in Guwahati from Mumbai.

Earlier, 15 COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Guwahati on Wednesday.

Assam has reported 86 COVID-19 positive cases including 29 cases from Kamrup (Metro), 11 cases from Cachar district, nine cases from Golaghat district, six cases each from Morigaon, Goalpara districts, five cases each from Dhubri, Bongaigaon districts, four cases from Nalbari district, three cases from Jorhat district, two cases each from Karimganj and Kamrup districts and one each from South Salmara, Lakhimpur, Hailakandi and Kokrajhar district.

Out of them two patients died and 39 others were discharged from hospitals.

One COVID-19 patient was migrated to Bihar.

The state has now 44 active positive cases for COVID-19.
