Indo-Bangladesh virtual summit

Indo-Bangla, Dec 17: Prime Narendra Modi has used the Cooch Behar palace as his backdrop in the Indo-Bangladesh virtual summit on Thursday.

BJP MP Nisith Pramanik shared the picture on Twitter and said “#coochbeharpalace at the backdrop of PM really proud moment for Bengal and India.

A day after celebrating Vijay Diwas, marking India’s triumph over Pakistan in 1971 that led to the birth of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds an Indo-Bangladesh virtual summit with his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on Thursday to discuss ways and means on how to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation in the post-Covid era.

India and Bangladesh have maintained regular dialogues at the highest level, with the Bangladeshi Prime Minister also paying an official visit to New Delhi as recently as October 2019. Both leaders have remained in regular touch during the COVID pandemic.

“Bangladesh is a significant pillar of our ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy. To strengthen relations with Bangladesh has been a priority for me since the first day. The cooperation between India and Bangladesh has been good notwithstanding the coronavirus pandemic,” said PM Modi.
