Arunachal Police & NDRF Rescued A Girl Stuck In The Middle of Dangerously Flowing Dikrong River

Today at 1100 hrs, an information was received at Nirjuli PS from Tana Tadap of village-1, Nirjuli that one unknown lady was stuck in the middle of the high flowing Dikrong River near old Doimukh Short Cut (Hanging Bridge).

Accordingly, OC PS Nirjuli Insp Zminli Geyi with H.C PK Hiram and available police force rushed to the riverside immediately to rescue the lady in need of help. The Doimukh Police team led Inspr R.Nikam was also on the other side of the Dikrong River for help. The river was flowing very dangerously.

Hence, the better equipped NDRF team of Doimukh was called for help and later on Inspector Ravikant with his team of NDRF Doimukh arrived with their boat and rescued the girl who was later on identified as one Miss Tadar Sigmak 20 yrs D/O Late Tadar Tania of 5/1 Banderdewa.

On inquiry, it is found that the girl came to Tigdo Village this morning from Banderdewa to meet her elder sister and while crossing railway bridge at Tigdo at around 1000 hrs, she slipped and fell into the river. The water current took her downstream some 2 km and she was luckily stuck in a small sandy island in the middle of the river near Dikrong colony where nearby the nearby heard her shouting for help.

Later on, the rescued girl was handed over to her mother and maternal uncle Shri Kipa  Ekiong HGB 5/1 Banderdewa from Nirjuli PS in good health. The victim and relatives expressed their heartiest thanks to the APP & NDRF for their commendable job of saving a life of the young lady.
