NCC steps forward to help orphanage in Guwahati

Guwahati, 20th October: Cadets of 60 Assam Girls Battalion NCC, part of Guwahati Group undertook a Noble Social Welfare Activity at ‘Kalyani Niwas’, a Girls orphanage in Ulubari, Guwahati. The orphanage is a home for over 42 girls of age groups ranging between six to eighteen years. Items like stationary, COVID protection equipment, sanitary napkins etc were given to the orphans.

A small event was organized by NCC, where Brig J C Talukdar, Gp Commander,  Guwahati Group NCC  interacted with inmates and handed over the items to the orphans and staff there, along with NCC Girl Cadets.

It may be mentioned that although NCC has been carrying out various Social Welfare and  Community Development activities like tree plantation, Save Girl Child, anti-pollution drives etc, however this time,  amidst  COVID-19 crises, orphanage and old age homes have been identified by NCC Guwahati Group, to provide essential items to the inmates.
