Nagaland becomes the first state to receive COVID-19 consignment through airlift by IAF:

Guwahati, May 3: Nagaland becomes the first state in the entire country to receive COVID-19 consignment through airlift by Indian Air Force (IAF) in support of the public and the state government.

The third and final consignment of BSL lab by C-130 Super Hercules from Mumbai is expected on Monday, which will lead to the operationalization of BSL lab, much needed by the Naga people.

The Officials of different line departments efforts to collectively work with dedication under most difficult conditions/restrictions and proactive involvement of state government to enhance disaster mitigation measures early has led to zero incidents of Covid-19 in the state, which is praiseworthy and great achievement of the state government.

The unflinching efforts of IAF in the state will be remembered in the years to come and the Naga people extends its gratitude to the Air warriors

Nagaland state under lockdown condition nationwide with zero movement of transports and shutting of entire industries after the imposition of disaster management Act 2005, the IAF played an instrumental role and unflinchingly supported the state government to get the basic emergency requirements with almost 9 special air relief mission comprising of latest C17 Globemaster, C130, IL 76 MD and Dornier -228 in short notice.

Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force on Sunday carried out an aerial salute to all the frontline workers, flying past with flower petal dropped all over the countries Covid-19 hospitals using its helicopter fleet, to give respect and solidarity to the medical professionals and other frontline workers efforts to fight against the pandemic.

The fleet included fighters and transport aircraft. The C-130 carried out a flypast over Delhi and SU-30 MKI in Mumbai, marine drive area, other activities included playing of musical Band in the Covid hospitals extending its gratitude to Doctors and Nurses.

It was a Tri services effort that was also participated by the Indian Army and Navy.
