Rio expressed hope that the launch of the App will greatly help the citizens in gathering accurate information related to the COVID-19 situation in the State, as information is made easily accessible to the public through the App.

Expressing concern about misinformation and false speculation which is hampering the state’s fight against COVID-19, especially concerning the COVID-19 vaccination drive, the CM hoped that information disseminated through the App will contribute to dispelling doubts in the minds of the people.

Rio also further stressed the need to educate the public and disseminate proper and accurate data and information as it is vital in ensuring that the State successfully contains COVID-19. The CM also added that the state is at par with other states in the field of Information Technology and acknowledged the efforts of the War Room that has been working tirelessly for the past few months.

The Nagaland COVID-19 Information App is developed and maintained by the Department of Information Technology & Communication, Government of Nagaland, for the State COVID-19 War Room.

The main objective of the App is to provide information related to COVID-19 in the state including the availability of hospital beds across the state. The mobile app which is a minimized version of the Nagaland COVID-19 Dashboard portal also provides information such as guidelines and notifications issued by the Government, details of COVID-19 testing and vaccination sites along with maps, the link for registering for vaccination, and other important contact details.

The DIPR informed that a new update of the App will also be launched soon which will include a self-assessment feature to guide and help individuals who have COVID-19 like symptoms to determine whether to seek medical help or not.
