Mizoram, May 4: As many as 198 fresh COVID cases update in Mizoram in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s tally to 6,556, an official said on Tuesday.
The official said that at least 3,517 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and 5.63 per cent of them came out positive for COVID-19.
Two cases were confirmed at a TrueNat lab, 76 cases detected through RT-PCR tests at Zoram Medical College and the remaining 120 cases were detected through Rapid Antigen Test, he said.
Of the 198 fresh cases, the Aizawl district reported the highest cases at 148, followed by Siaha (31), Kolasib (9), Lunglei (4), (2) each from Saitual and Serchhip, and (1) each from Lawngtlai and Mamit district, the official said.
Mizoram Covid update: Mizoram currently has 1,427 active COVID-19 cases, while 5,112 people have recovered from the virus.
The death toll in the state is 17, he added.
