Meghalaya, September 25: South West Garo Hills police force arrested an individual today and laid hands on 1,923 YaBa, methamphetamine and World-is-Yours tablets weighing approximately 188 grams in Baghmara. They made the arrest, following a tip-off from reliable sources. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Baghmara police state. The matter is being closely investigated.

This comes after 2 other drug bust in the same state in the same month. Meghalaya Police on September 6 busted an inter-state drugs racket and arrested four persons from two different places. During this search, they found one jute bag containing 5 sealed packets of suspected Yaba tablets. The total weight of the tablets was 5.076 kg.

The truck that was carrying the drugs and the criminals, was heading towards Tripura. On the same day, another woman was arrested from 3rd Mile Upper Shillong, with 0.65 grams of powder, which is suspected to be heroin. The police also got hold of her business partner and the person who came to purchase the drug.

In another incident, the Meghalaya Police arrested ten persons, including two women from Manipur and Guwahati for being included in the drug racket. A total of 1,195 grams of heroin was served from their possession.
