Manipur, Jan 11: Manipur tourism minister Oinam Lukhoi Singh flagged off a cleanliness campaign at the Konthoujam Lairembi complex and its surroundings in Imphal West district.

The campaign is supported by North Eastern Council under the Swachhata Scheme and organized by the Manipur tourism department. Speaking on the occasion, Lukhoi stressed the importance of imbibing the concept of cleanliness by all sections of society, especially from the grassroots level, to lead a healthy and prosperous life.

He said the Swacchata campaign was being carried out in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who led the mass movement for cleanliness to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a clean and hygienic country.
