Imphal, June 10: In a shocking incident, unidentified gunmen opened fire at the Manipur Police Special Commando Team near Khongsang Rengpang village along the Imphal – Jiribam road.
The commando team, who were on Rope Operating Party (ROP), retaliated and one police commando personnel. Rifleman Sachikumar was injured in the gun battle.
The incident is said to have occurred around 3:30pm on June 9. The injured commando was taken to Imphal for treatment.

In March this year, one Assam Rifles jawan was injured in a grenade attack at the gate of an Assam Rifles transit camp in Manipur on Wednesday evening.
