Manipur: Governor, CM among others wishes people on Cheiraoba

Manipur, April 13: Governor of Manipur Dr Najma Heptulla, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Works Minister Biwajit and other Ministers, MLAs, leaders of all political parties greets the people of Manipur with the coming of the Cheiraoba ( Manipur New Year festival) which falls tomorrow, the 13th of April.

In her message the Governor, Dr Najma Heptulla said that the new year of Manipur is an occasion for the people to rejoice and look forward to the future with hope.

It is time to make resolutions to usher in a year of peace and harmony in the state“, Najma Heptulla said.

In his message, the Chief Minister said that the old year has been a stressful one with the COVID Pandemic affecting all of us, old and young, men and women, rich and poor.

The impact has been different on different people. Times of difficulty are however great teachers.

What we have learned must inspire us to grow into better and stronger men and women and travel onwards and upwards with resilience and pride.

The CM further said, “Let us travel into the New Year with hope and ambition and resolve to do the greater good for ourselves, our beloved ones, and our societies.”

Manipur Legislative assembly Speaker Y Khemchand has also extended a warm greeting on the occasion of Meetei cheiraoba. He wishes the people of the state a happy and prosperous Cheiraoba.

Other Ministers, including Bishwajit, Lukhoi, Seityabrata also wishes the people to live a prosperous life in the coming new year.
