Mahima Chaudhry BJP

Bengal, April 12: Hindi film actor Mahima Chaudhry on Monday urged people to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in poll-bound West Bengal’s Lake Town area.

While a Bollywood star appearing in a poll campaign is nothing unusual, what makes it curious is that Mahima Chaudhry had last week appeared in a roadshow for a Trinamool Congress candidate.

The BJP and TMC are locked in a bitter battle as the two parties fight for the seat of power in the 294-member West Bengal Assembly.

So far, the poll campaign has seen several incidences of violence, changes of allegiances, and a volley of accusations flying from both sides.

In such a heated political environment, Mahima Chaudhry has campaigned for both the BJP and TMC.

On Monday, the Pardes actor joined the vote campaign for BJP candidate in the Lake Town area Sabyasachi Dutta.
