Arunachal Pradesh, Dec 28: Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso who is the JD (U) legislator in the Arunachal assembly slammed BJP over snatching his six Janata Dal-United MLAs and letting them join BJP.

Kaso said that “in central level JD (U) and BJP is an alliance and part of NDA but in Arunachal, this alliance is broken by this deed of BJP. Out of 60 assembly seats in Arunachal 7 MLAs won from Janata Dal united and our party was giving external support to the ruling BJP party with the majority of 41 MLAs.”

Techi Kaso who is the lone JD (U) MLA left behind after the merger of all his colleagues JD (U) MLAs expressed his sentiment over the game played by BJP in both municipal & Panchayat elections held recently on 22 December.

Kaso said “many of his cooperator candidates who filed their nominations to contest as a cooperator of Itanagar Municipal Corporation from Janata Dal united were lured and even threatened to withdraw their nominations to pave way for letting BJP candidates win Uncontested. Three of his JD (U) candidates went missing before nomination and did not reach home for a week. Two Janata Dal united were rejected by scrutiny breaking all rules and regulations.”

The returning officer, proposers were not allowed to submit proper reports.

All these games played by BJP against its partner JDU and now snatching 6 MLAs of Janata Dal united is very disappointing as mentioned by Janata Dal united senior leaders of Bihar.

However out of 20 cooperator candidates for Itanagar Municipal corporation, BJP won 10, Janata Dal-United won 9 and National people’s party won 1. BJP won 5 Uncontested by luring candidates for withdrawing nominations otherwise Janata Dal united will form Government in Municipal Corporation of Itanagar.

In Panchayat elections also BJP did the same and won thousands of Uncontested Gram Panchayat members and hundreds of Zilla Parishad members.

“This trend of making own candidates win Uncontested is very bad for democracy as citizens don’t get chance to cast their votes to select their desirable candidates & no meaning of universal adult franchise” Kaso added.
