IED explosion at police reserve in Meghalaya

Meghalaya, July 14: An IED explosion occurred at one of the police reserve at Khliehriat in East Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya, on Wednesday around 1:30 am.

Superintendent of Police of East Jaintia Hills District, Jagpal Singh, informed one person was in the quarters which was attacked.

The SP mentioned that fortunately, there was no loss of life or injuries, but the explosion led to a loss of property.

We requisitioned the Bomb Disposal Squad, Crime Scene Unit and other necessary units from the Police Headquarters Shillong. We will keep updating as and when we get further updates,” said Singh.

The motive behind the attack is yet to be ascertained, and so far, no organisation has come forward to take responsibility.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui confirmed the same and said that investigation is underway.
