New Virus in Bengal, Dec 22: The new Corona strain is spreading panic around the world. London-Kolkata flights have also been closed.
Meanwhile, the state’s concern was heightened when two passengers from London to Kolkata were found to be COVID positive on Tuesday.
It is being investigated whether the coronavirus is a new corona strain in the bodies of two new passengers returning to London.
The two men who got infected from the new virus in Bengal were immediately taken to the hospital. One of them is undergoing treatment at Calcutta Medical College, the other is admitted at Rajarhat CMCI. Sources said that their report was sent to Pune. The rest of the passengers on the plane are also being monitored.
In the morning, a man who recently returned from the United Kingdom (UK) have tested positive for COVID-19 in Chennai, it is a worrying sign for the Tamil Nadu administration.
It is noted that the UK has been witnessing a new strain of COVID-19 for the past couple of days, forcing many countries to halt flights to and from the European nation.
The Indian government has suspended flights to London while Saudi and Oman have suspended all international flights.
