Assam Earthquake

Assam, 13th November: Mild earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale had hit Assam’s Karbi Anglong in the early hours of Friday, said National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

The tremor was recorded at a shallow depth of 11 km on 61 kilometre North of Dimapur, Nagaland.

Earlier this month, an earthquake of 4.4 magnitudes on the Richter scale jolted Assam, Manipur, and Meghalaya besides neighbouring Bangladesh. The tremor was recorded at a shallow depth of 10 km on latitude 26.69 North and longitude 91.15 degrees East with epicentre at Nongstoin in Meghalaya. Nongstoin is 81 kilometres from Guwahati, the capital city of Assam.
