Guwahati, June 17: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday inaugurated a 20 km double lane road in Kimin, in presence of Chief Minister of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu took a tweet and wrote, Accorded warm welcome to Hon’ble #RakshaMantri Shri @rajnathsingh Ji today at #Kimin in #Arunachal. Elated by visit of Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, who is in Arunachal to inaugurate 12 road projects that will boost development, industrialization and in securing our borders.”

 

Speaking on the occasion Rajnath Singh praised the Border Roads Organization for its contribution on roads and other infrastructure development in the remote border areas of the nation.

He also re-dedicated 12 new roads to the nation. Out of 12 roads, one has been made in Union Territory of Ladakh, one road in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, and the rest in Arunachal Pradesh.

He reiterated the resolve of the Government to connect all regions of the country to the overall national mainstream to provide equal opportunity for development and growth.

Speaking on the occasion Lt General Rajeev Chaudhry, DGBR, reiterated the efforts of BRO in the overall development of Arunachal Pradesh and thanked the effort of the state in assisting BRO to ensure the development of infrastructure in a smooth manner.
