West Bengal, 1st November: The dead body of a BJP worker was found hanging in Nadia district of West Bengal. The deceased was identified as Bijoy Shil.
A 35-year-old BJP worker was actively involved in party work in the area. The incident took place at Gayeshpur of Nadia Kalyani police station.
His residence is presently in Ward No. 4 of the Gayeshpur Municipality in the district. This morning, the locals saw the hanging body in a mango orchard near the cremation area of Gayeshpur.

Wife of deceased BJP worker claim that he never commit suicide.
“My husband never commits suicide. He loves our kids. He used to say that he will never leave us alone. He was getting life threats for a few days but we never register any complaint. He was not connected with any party, he used to spend time with our neighbour who is a party worker. People used to think that he has a connection with them. He used to deliver a gas cylinder. Shaheb asks him to follow him but he denied. Shaheb killed him,” said Kamoli Shil, wife of deceased BJP worker.
However, no written complaint has been lodged with the police so far. Police from Kalyani police station in Nadia district has reached the spot.
The body was recovered and sent for autopsy. However, there is a lot of tension in the area. The BJP has claimed that Bijoy was killed by political goons and hanged.
Local BJP worker said “This is a planned murder. He had a connection with TMC, but before the last Lok Sabha Election, he joins hands with BJP. TMC did this to create pressure in the area as most of the local people here are BJP supporters. He was there with me.”
BJP vice-president Mukul Roy ask the Bengal Governor to cognizance the matter.

Other BJP workers also allege that Bijoy was killed by political goons.
