Mumbai, 12th November: Mumbai Indians all-rounder Krunal Pandya has been stopped at Mumbai International Airport by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) over suspicion of being in possession of undisclosed gold and other valuables while returning from UAE after IPL 2020.

He was carrying an excess amount of gold and few branded purses along with other items. The DRI has told him to pay the duty.

According to the rules, for Indians flying in from Dubai, male passengers can only import 50,000 INR worth of duty-free gold jewellery whereas the female passengers are allowed to carry double the amount.

Krunal Pandya hit the winning runs in the IPL 2020 final against Delhi Capitals as Mumbai Indians lifted the trophy for the 5th time and second in succession. He has played 71 matches for Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

He was the player of the match in the IPL 2017 final and had helped Mumbai Indians defeat Rising Pune Supergiant to claim their third title.
