Assam, May 7: Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) has started the COVID vaccination drive at Guwahati.

A glimpse of the drive has been shared on Twitter by the official account.

For the last few days, the institute is trying to aware people on social media by sharing the requirements to be taken in this crucial time.

One of ASDM tweets says, “The fight against COVID19 may be tough, but with the right tools, we can defeat the dreaded virus. Don’t forget to wear your mask, clean your hands regularly, maintain physical distancing and vaccinate when your turn comes.”

ASDM has asked everyone to maintain the social distancing during this COVID period even if seating inside the home.

The organization share the information on Twitter and wrote, “Don’t let the distance reduce. Wherever you are; indoors or outside, always wear a mask and ensure a physical distance of at least 6 feet from others.”

Earlier also share a video on their official Twitter handle which says that “We stand together by standing apart. Maintain a distance of 6 feet from others to help curb the spread of COVID-19.”

Assam Skill Development mission is registered under Society Act in 2015 and is working under newly created Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department, Govt. of Assam with the visions of capacity building of unemployed youth and delivering quality skill training leading to meaningful employment to stimulate the economy of the state.

ASDM signed an MoU with ITEES, Singapore as the Global Knowledge Partner for establishing North East Skill Centre (NESC) at Guwahati. The objective of establishing an NESC is to offer high-quality skills training for the masses especially the rural youth. In the first phase, NESC will provide training under the following sectors: Retail, Beauty & Wellness, and Hospitality- Housekeeping and Hospitality – F&B Services.

ASDM has trained at least 1,18,585 candidates. For the financial year 2020-21, the total target of 26,600 has been allotted to 396 training Centres, covering 33 districts in 24 Sectors and 83 unique job roles.

The centres were launched in December 2017, with a vision to provide Short Term Training to the youth so it helps them to gain employment in the state, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all the training centres across the state were closed from March 2020.
