Assam college student donates Rs 1.93 lakh to government that amount kept in bank for her marriage :

Guwahati: College student donates Rs 1.93 lakh to help the Assam government to fight against the deadly novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). That amount was kept in her bank account by her parents for her marriage.

Reema Ghosh – a college student of Rangia area in Assam’s Kamrup district had donated the amount to Assam Arogya Nidhi to help the state government to fight against COVID-19.

The college student had handed over the cheque to Assam state minister of Irrigation department Bhabesh Kalita.

Reema Ghosh said that, her parents had kept the amount in bank for her marriage.

“The entire world is now fighting against the Coronavirus and many people in our country are also infected. After consulting with my father, I decided to donate the amount to the state government,” Reema Ghosh said.

According to the Assam government, a total of 8054 people have donated about Rs 17.37 crore so far to Assam Arogya Nidhi.

Assam has reported 26 positive cases for COVID-19 so far and 1914 samples have been tested in five laboratories in the state so far.
