CM Conrad Sangma visits Nongpoh Civil Hospital to oversee oxygen plant

Meghalaya, May 20: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma Thursday inspected the ongoing construction of the Oxygen Generation Plant at the Nongpoh Civil Hospital. An oxygen generation plant of 150 Litres Per Minute (LPM) capacity will be ready for commissioning in few days.

The plant will be commissioned and will be able to support 25 beds with high flow oxygen.

Directions were given to the contractors to speed up the work,” Meghalaya Chief Minister shared the information on Twitter.

Meghalaya logged the highest single-day COVID-19 cases after registering 1,183 new cases taking the total number of active cases to 6477. The state also recorded 10 new COVID-19 related deaths and 465 recoveries today.

The Directorate of Health Services informed that the total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the State has reached 389 out of which 324 are from East Khasi Hills district alone.

So far, the total number of infected people in Meghalaya has reached 26,927. Out of them, 20,061 people have recovered so far.
