Assam, 14th November: A BSF jawan from Assam has been killed in ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
Hardhan Chandra Roy, who hailed from Phutukibari-Medhipara under Sapatgram police station in lower Assam’s Dhubri district was among the four Army jawan killed in Pakistan firing on Friday.

In a major flare-up along the LoC, 11 people, including five soldiers, were killed in ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops in different areas in north Jammu and Kashmir.
Four army jawans, a BSF sub-inspector in Assam, and six civilians were killed in the recent border shelling which the locals have termed as “unprecedented.” The incident occurred in parts of the Uri Keran sector of Kupwara district and Izmarg in Gurez sector of Bandipora district in Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the information, Pakistan initiated the unprovoked ceasefire violations along the LoC. The army officials added that Pakistan used mortars and other weapons and had deliberately targeted civilian areas. Indian army also retaliated strongly destroying Pakistani army bunkers, fuel dumps, and launch pads.
Army sources say that there are huge casualties on the Pakistan side as well as around six to seven soldiers from Pakistan were killed and around 10-12 were injured. The army has also released videos showing mortars hitting and damaging Pakistani bunkers along the LoC.
