Guwahati, May 1: BSF helps villagers of the Assam-Meghalaya border. COVID-19 has affected all the sections of society and the world.

The border population are the worst affected due to remoteness and additional restrictions.

BSF is continuously putting all efforts in managing the border and in controlling the transmission of COVID-19 virus as well.
Recently, Kuldeep Saini, IG BSF Ftr Meghalaya in the presence of Avtar Singh Shahi, DIG BSF Sector Shillong, and Commandant 43 BN chaired a meeting with DC Baghmara, SP and medical officers of South Garo Hills district at Baghmara.

During the meeting various issues regarding relief to the population ahead of the fence, co-ordination between BSF and civil administration and preventive measures to deal with any emergency were discussed.
On April 30, IG, BSF Meghalaya interacted with nukmas and health workers of the area including own troops of 43 BN BSF, and briefed them in detail about COVID-19 and its prevention and awareness.

Free ration and essential items like sanitizer, mask, hand wash, packed milk, and other dairy products etc were distributed among 100 villagers and nukmas.
Nukmas and civil administration appreciated the efforts made by BSF in the border belt in the time of the COVID-19  crisis.
