Assam, 7th November: BJP organised a mass protest rally at the Silchar city, opposing the pro-Pak slogans like “Pakistan Zindabad“, that were raised by the supporters of Badruddin Ajmal at the Silchar Airport.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma alleged that supporters of Badruddin Ajmal, president of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), had raised “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans on his arrival at the Silchar Airport. The Cachar district BJP has condemned the act and called out a massive protest rally.

The president of Cachar district BJP, Kaushik Rai said, “The way Pakistan Zindabad slogans were raised in the Silchar Airport to welcome Badruddin Azmal in the state, is a matter of concern. We strongly condemn the anti-national activities“. The rally was scheduled at 11.30 am from the BJP party office.

All India United Democratic Front (AIDUF), on the other hand, has however claimed that the slogans raised were “Aziz Khan Zindabad“.  The national general secretary of  AIUDF said, ” Hemanta Biswa Sarma has used rhyming words and peddled the wrong theory“. He has even demanded a high-level enquiry of the matter. He even added, “There were security personnel, CISF jawans, Assam Police head officials, and how come someone says Pakistan in such a gathering“.
