BJP MP Saumitra Khan to divorce his wife Sujata Mondal after she joins TMC

Bengal Assembly polls, Dec 21: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Saumitra Khan has decided to send a divorce notice to his wife Sujata Mondal Khan just hours after she joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) ahead of the 2021 Bengal Assembly elections.

Sujata Mondal Khan joined the TMC on Monday in Kolkata, revealing the feud in the family. Besides deciding to send a divorce notice, Sujata Khan’s car and house security at Barjora in Bishnupur have been withdrawn.

Saumitra Khan is the president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and MP from Bishnupur.

After joining the TMC, Sujata Mondal Khan said the BJP does not give due respect and honour to people. “Now there are only opportunist and tainted people on the top. There was no respect in the BJP for me,” Sujata Mondal Khan said.

Saumitra Khan challenged the TMC ahead of the polls and said Mamata Banerjee’s party would be thrown out of the state.

Taking another dig at party, Sujata Mondal Khan said the BJP has six chief ministerial candidates and 13 deputy chief minister faces. “Prime minister is a prime minister. He [Narendra Modi] is not a chief ministerial candidate,” Sujata Mondal Khan said.

Addressing Sujata Mondal, Saumitra Khan said, “I request my wife Sujata to stay well and fight out. You have made a mistake, Sujata. I want to tell Abhishek Banerjee, Sujata was my only weakness and now I will sacrifice everything for my party [BJP].

Saumitra Khan then announced that he would be sending a divorce notice to Sujata Mondal. “I will be sending divorce notice. I will fight TMC. I want to tell TMC that you should be ashamed for breaking my family. There have been so many fights but [I] did not think this will happen.”
