BJP goons allegedly attack DYFI activists in Tripura

Tripura, May 21: DYFI activists in Tripura allegedly attacked by BJP goon while they were sanitizing the village of Fultali in Kailasahar.

CPI (M) claimed that a worker has been beaten up by the BJP goons and forced to chant ‘Jai Sri Ram’ & ‘Bharat Mata ki Jay‘.

The victim has been hospitalized where he said, “We had gone there on behalf of DYFI Tripura to sanitize the place. We were on the verge of ending when they came and attacked us. I tried to escape to a house nearby but was unable to lock the door.

They came in and beat me up more. They tore apart my clothes, made me kneel. My nose was bleeding. They kicked me everywhere and threw me on the streets.

They asked me to chant “Jay Shree Ram” and “Bharat Mata ki Jay”. There were Mridul Sen, his brother and quite a few of them. I might recognize them when I see them”

Last week, the leader of the opposition Communist Party of India (Marxist) and former chief minister Manik Sarkar was attacked allegedly by BJP workers in the Santirbazar sub-division under the South Tripura district.

Sarkar was accompanied by deputy opposition leader Badal Choudhury, MLA Sudhan Das, and others while going to meet party supporters who had recently faced a similar attack by local miscreants.

When the convoy of CPI (M) legislators reached Santirbazar, hundreds of people who had assembled attacked them.
