Assam touches 100 COVID-19 positive cases

Guwahati, May 17: Assam on Sunday touches 100 COVID-19 positive cases after three more cases detected in Guwahati.

Confirming the reports, Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, all three new patients had returned to the state from outside and they are at the Sarusajai stadium quarantine center.

The Assam minister further said that, two among them were returned from Mumbai and one from Bihar.

He tweeted – “Three persons are tested #COVID19 + in Guwahati. Two of them came from Mumbai while one arrived from Bihar. All 3 are in the Sarusajai quarantine center. Total cases 100.”

Assam has registered nine positive cases for COVID-19 including a 9-year-old boy in the last 24 hours.

The state has so far reported 100 COVID-19 positive cases including 39 cases from Kamrup (Metro), 12 cases from Cachar district, nine cases from Golaghat district, six cases each from Morigaon, Goalpara districts, five cases each from Dhubri, Bongaigaon districts, four cases each from Nalbari, Jorhat district, two cases each from Karimganj and Kamrup districts and one each from South Salmara, Lakhimpur, Hailakandi, Sonitpur, Sivasagar and Kokrajhar district.

Out of them two patients died and 39 others were discharged from hospitals.

One COVID-19 patient was migrated to Bihar.

The state has now 44 active positive cases for COVID-19.
