Guwahati, June 10: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said that the state government will hold the Class 10 and Class 12 exams in July, August if the COVID-19 positivity rate in the state comes down below 2 percent.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said that in this regard a series of meetings with the guardians, students’ organizations were held and the guardians, students’ organizations have given their consent in favor to hold the examination.

“We want to hold the examination in mid of July. If the COVID-19 positivity rate comes down below 2 percent in the first week of July then we will hold the examinations. If the positivity rate will increases above 2 percent then we will cancel the examination. We don’t want to take any risk of student health,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

He further said that the question papers of Class 10 and Class 12 exams will be objective and very much straight and someone can score 100 marks also.
