Coronavirus: Assam reports 52.87 per cent of total cases in the last 7 days

Guwahati, June 6: Assam reports 1186 positive cases for COVID-19 in the last seven days which accounts for 52% of the total cases registered.

The state has so far reported 2243 COVID-19 positive cases, and the last seven days numbers accounted 52.87 per cent of the total numbers.

128 COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in the state in last 24 hours taking the state tally to 2243.

According to the Assam government data, the surge of the COVID-19 positive cases numbers in the state continuing unabated as 1186 positive cases for the new virus has been detected in the state in the last seven days.

The government data shows that 159 COVID-19 positive cases have detected in the state on May 30 while 145 cases detected on May 31, 124 cases on June 1, 76 cases on June 2, 269 cases on June 3, 285 cases on June 4 and 128 cases detected on June 5.

Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, in last 24 hours, the state has registered 124 new positive cases for COVID-19.

He tweeted – “90 new cases of #COVID19+. 37 Dhubri, 15 D Hasao, 7 K’ganj, 7 Cachar, 7 Baksa, 6 H’kandi, 3 Udalguri, 2 S Salmara, 2 Dhemaji, 1 each Nalbari / Barpeta / Bongaigaon / Chirang. Total cases 2243.

On the other hand, 509 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals.

The state has now 1727 active positive cases for the novel Coronavirus.
