1001 new COVID-19 cases

With 1001 new cases Assam COVID-19 tally rises to 17807, death toll mounts to 40

Guwahati, July 14: Assam has reported 1001 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours.

With the new cases, the state tally has now increased to 17807.

Out of the new cases, 513 cases have been reported from Guwahati city alone.

Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, 1001 fresh were detected in the state in last 24 hours and 513 cases were detected in Guwahati alone.

On the other hand, four more persons including a doctor of Guwahati Medical College Hospital died due to COVID-19 infection taking the state death toll to 40.

A 31-year-old man from of Golaghat district, a 62-year-old man from Kamrup (Metro) district, a 30-year-old youth from of Kamrup (Metro) district and an Associate Professor of Guwahati Medical College Hospital succumbed to COVID-19,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

On the other hand, 522 more COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals in the state on Monday.

So far, 11416 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals and the recovery rate in the state is 64.11 per cent.

The state has now 6348 active COVID-19 positive cases.
