With 548 new COVID-19 positive cases Assam reaches 9000 mark

Guwahati, July 2: With 548 new positive cases for COVID-19 Assam reaches 9000 mark in the numbers of the Novel Coronavirus.

The state has registered 548 new positive cases for the deadly virus in last 24 hour and with the fresh cases, the state tally has now surged to 8955.

Out of the new cases, 378 cases have been reported from Guwahati.

Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, out of 548 new cases detected in the state in the last 24 hours, 378 cases were found in Guwahati.

He tweeted – “408 new #COVID19+ cases detected today. In the last 24 hours, 378 cases reported from Guwahati City. We request all to follow lockdown rules sincerely. Total cases 8955, Recovered 5831, Active cases 3109, Deaths 12. 11:55 PM/ July 01/ Day’s total 548.”

On June 30, the state had reported 613 COVID-19 positive cases and out of these 380 cases detected in Guwahati city alone.

On the other hand, Assam has so far completed nearly 4.20 lakh tests for COVID-19 at 12 laboratories in the state.
