Assam: Elephant herd swims across flooded village

Elephant herd swims across flooded village in Kaziranga

An elephant herd was caught on camera wading through floodwaters at a village hit by a flood in the river island which also happens to be the first island district of the country, Majuli in Assam.

Majuli district is the largest river island in the world and it is placed over the Brahmaputra River in Assam.

The herd could be seen swimming out of the flooded Burapahar range in Kaziranga National Park in Assam after which it moved towards the nearby Karbi hills area in search of safer areas.
