With 327 new cases Assam COVID-19 tally surges to 7492, death toll rises to 11

Guwahati, June 29: With 327 new positive cases for COVID-19 Assam tally for the deadly virus surges to 7492.

Out of the new cases 195 cases have been reported alone from Guwahati city.

On the other hand, one COVID-19 patient died at a government-run hospital in Guwahati on Friday and the death toll has now increased to 11.

Confirming the report Assam Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, the state has registered 327 fresh COVID-19 positive cases in last 24 hours and with the new cases the state tally has now increased to 7492.

He tweeted – “327 new #COVID19+ cases detected in Assam today. Out of these, 195 cases were reported in Guwahati City in the last 24 hours. Total cases 7492, Recovered 5088, Active cases 2390, Deaths 11.

On the other hand, 44 police personnel including one Superintendent of Police (SP) level officer were also tested positive for the new virus in the state.

Additional Director of Police (ADGP) GP Singh said that, 1127 police personnel in the state are now under quarantine.

Assam has now 2390 active positive cases for COVID-19.

Assam has so far tested 3,85,299 samples for the new virus at 12 laboratories across the state.
