Assam COVID-19 cases tally

With 92 new COVID-19 positive cases Assam tally crosses 2500 mark, Nagaland reports five fresh cases:

Guwahati, June 7: Assam on Sunday crosses the 2500 mark in the numbers of COVID-19 positive cases after the state has registered 92 new positive cases for the new virus and the state tally has now surged to 2565.

Out of the new cases, 39 cases have been reported from Hojai district while 24 cases detected in Dhubri district, 10 in Nagaon, 7 in Golaghat, 6 in Majuli, 5 in Lakhimpur and one case in Dhemaji district.

Confirming the report, Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, the state has registered 92 new cases on Sunday.

He tweeted – “92 new #COVID19+ cases. 39 Hojai, 24 Dhubri, 10 Nagaon, 7 Golaghat, 6 Majuli, 5 Lakhimpur, 1 Dhemaji. Total cases 2565.”

The state has so far reported 2565 COVID-19 positive cases and out of these 588 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The state has now 1970 active positive cases for the new virus.

On the other hand, Nagaland has reported five fresh positive cases for COVID-19 taking the state tally to 112.

Confirming the report, Nagaland Health minister S Pangnyu Phom tweeted – “5 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours out of 318 samples tested. All cases are from Dimapur. Positive: 112.”

Out of the total cases, eight COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals and the state has now 104 active positive cases for the novel Coronavirus.
