Assam reports 111 new COVID-19 positive cases, Nagaland registers 9 fresh cases:

Guwahati, June 3: Assam on Wednesday has registered 111 more positive cases for COVID-19 and with the new cases the state tally has now increased to 1672, and Nagaland on Wednesday has reported 9 more positive cases for COVID-19 taking the state tally to 58.

The new cases have been reported from seven districts of the state.

Out of the fresh cases, 66 positive cases for COVID-19 have been reported from Dhubri district while 18 cases reported from Golaghat, 13 from Darrang, five from Karimganj, four from Nagaon, three from Sonitpur and two cases from Lakhimpur district.

Confirming the report, Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted – “51 new cases of #COVID19+. 28 Dhubri, 13 Darrang, 5 Karimganj, 3 Sonitpur, 2 Lakhimpur. Total cases 1672.

On Tuesday, the state had registered 76 COVID-19 positive cases.

The state has so far reported 1672 positive cases for COVID-19 and out of the 337 patients were discharged from hospitals.

The state has now 1328 active positive cases for the new virus.

On the other hand, Nagaland on Wednesday has reported 9 more positive cases for COVID-19 taking the state tally to 58.

Nagaland Health minister S Pangnyu Phom said that nine persons who returned to the state from Chennai recently have tested positive for the new virus.

He tweeted – “Out of 115 samples tested, 9 more returnees from Chennai tested Covid-19 positive. Positive : 58, Active : 58.”
