Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, an explosion has rocked Assam’s Charaideo district.
According to the reports, the explosion took place at Sapekhati area near Sonari and the locals heard a big sound at around 11-50 pm last night. Following the explosion, top police officials, army personnel had rushed to the area. Several shops of the area have been reportedly damaged in the blast.
There is no report of any casualty in the blast.
Charaideo district Superintendent of Police (SP) Anand Mishra said that – “We have collected the samples of the blast and sent it to the Science Forensic Laboratory.”
Security has been tightened in the area located along Assam-Nagaland border.
