5.4 magnitude earthquake jolts Sikkim, tremors also felt in Assam, Bengal

Sikkim, April 5: An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 struck Sikkim at about 25km East-Southeast of capital Gangtok at 8:50 pm on Monday.

The epicentre is reported to be around 10km below the Earth’s surface.

Tremors were felt in several eastern states including Assam, Bihar, and West Bengal, apart from Sikkim.

There is no report of damage to life and property.
